The Queen of NEWS – 新闻女王

This drama “The Queen of NEWS – 新闻女王” is about the highly-watched 6:30 PM news report is the battleground for news anchors. In the news department, seasoned anchors Wen Huixin (portrayed by Charmaine Sheh) and Liang Jingren (portrayed by Kenneth Ma) split into two factions, each vying for the top spot. Anchors Hui Siqing (portrayed by Samantha Ko), Zhang Jiayan (portrayed by Selena Lee), and Xu Xiaowei (portrayed by Regina Ho), competing for the position, set aside mentor-disciple relationships and journalistic ethics, using any means necessary to excel publicly, while privately digging up scars and hurting each other. In the end, some find allies from the “cold palace,” some break away from the mainstream to find new paths, and some become the person they despise the most. Newcomer Liu Yan (portrayed by Venus Wong), full of enthusiasm, witnesses open and covert struggles, aiming not to be assimilated and to maintain her ideals. Wen believes that by manipulating outcomes, she can control power. However, the director and the boss have other plans, exposing her unpleasant past to bring her down and achieve their ultimate reform plan. Everyone focuses on grabbing the cup of water in front of them, forgetting the vast expanse behind them.
